Rejuvenate with Shavasana

In the yoga world, Shavasana is a synonym for a corpse pose. It is a deep relaxation performed at the end of each Kundalini Workshop and lasts 5-15min.

One of my favourite yoga poses. Find out why...

It's beneficial for anyone and can be practiced at any age or stage in life. No previous experience is required.

The teacher gives instructions and guides you through the relaxation process while you are lying down on your back. Eyes closed, arms beside your body, palms facing up, feet hips width apart, and toes are pointing out. In stillness, you let your body sink into the ground and gradually relax one body part at a time until your whole body becomes very heavy and completely relaxed.

At first glance, Shavasana does not look like a fully conscious pose, but it is interesting that in this relaxed position, the body & the mind can remain awake & present.

Occasionally, clients fall asleep because it lowers their blood pressure and heart rate and teaches them how to relax as a preparation for sleep.

At the end of Shavasana, many clients recognize how those 5-15 minutes were a great way to recharge and reset.

Is there a reason why Shavasana is done at the end of each kundalini workshop?

Actually yes! One if its main goals is to assimilate the benefits of the Kundalini Kriya (set of exercises) during the Kundalini Workshop.

Shavasana, when practiced daily, can condition the body to release stress, help with insomnia, relax nerves and muscles, and rejuvenate.

Recently, I have started incorporating chimes, gongs, and crystal bowls in the background. during Shavasana. Up to 60% of the human adult body is water; thus, our body can quickly feel the soothing vibration of the sound and experience more profound relaxation and emotional balance.

People exposed daily to great mental effort and stress significantly benefit from practicing this pose.

Proper and deep relaxation can keep us less reactive and improve our overall well-being despite this modern accelerated society we live in today.

If you haven't experienced the fantastic benefits of Shavasana yet, I invite you to try it yourself.
